This top has unique sleeves. The deep lace sleeves are left unseamed at the edges so they flutter and make the top less boxy.
The armholes are seamed on the inside up to the underarm for a shorter depth than the sleeves.
The sleeves are worked out from the body, and you can continue working the lace pattern for longer sleeves, and seam the edges if you prefer kimono sleeves.
