Salix

Cardigan

Here is my new design with the Dropped Stitch Cable pattern. I wanted to design something where the lines are vertical and with a different look from my previous designs with the Dropped Stitch Cable pattern.

This is the design I came up with. The cable pattern is 20% of the project, and the rest is worked with simple straight lines. The cables are worked only on the upper body making this section a little narrower. The garment has an A-line because of the cable pattern. I also put in decreases for the back of the neck to make the A-line shape on the back as well.

You will start at the bottom in one piece, and work until the underarms. Then you will divide to work the two fronts and back separately. You may be familiar with this style rectangular vest, and I also have similar vests in my pattern line. I was wondering how to make it less boxy, especially the back body, and to design it more like a regular vest. I am happy with the result of the shape!
